
Sitharaman’s budget: No change in income tax slabs
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several announcements in the interim budget on Thursday, but refrained from making any major announcement. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the last budget of the second term of the Narendra Modi government.
No new exemption has been given to taxpayers in this budget. That means no change has been made in the income tax slab.
She said- The next 25 years are a period of duty for us.
The Finance Minister has not given any relief to the income tax payers. Income tax payers may be disappointed by this.
This time he has not made any changes in the income tax slab.
He has announced to build three corridors in Indian Railways. Under this, energy-mineral-cement corridor, port connectivity corridor and high passenger density corridor will be built.
He has also announced to form a committee on population control and a committee to open new medical colleges.
He said that his government has brought 25 crore people of the country out of the poverty line.
Sitharaman has announced to promote research on oilseeds.
He claimed that due to the efforts of the government, one crore lakhpati didis have been created in the country. Self-reliance has increased through this scheme. Under this scheme, a target has been set to make three crore more women millionaires.
